Huawei unveiled the Huawei Mate 9 for the first time at a private global launch event held in Munich, Germany. The newly introduced Huawei Mate series is a smartphone distinguished by its stylish design and powerful performance, and is expected to provide users with the best processing speed, SuperCharge technology, and an innovative Android experience through a new UX.

Richard Yu, President of Huawei’s Consumer Business Group, said, “The Huawei Mate 9 started with the goal of comprehensively enhancing the smartphone user experience. Users want smartphones with the best design and intuitive features, going beyond simply fast and convenient products. The Huawei Mate 9 models introduced this time have brought about groundbreaking changes in design and performance by innovating both hardware and software.”

Huawei Kirin chipsets, with over 100 million units sold to date, have met user expectations by operating mobile devices intuitively, quickly, and stably. The Mate 9 series is the first model to feature the premium Kirin 960 processor and Huawei Machine Learning Algorithm, supporting fast and smooth performance even after more than 18 months of continuous use.

Safe and fast-charging battery

The Mate 9 features a high-capacity 4,000mAh battery with SuperCharge charging technology, boasting a battery life of over two days of continuous use with talk time increased by 40% and gaming time by 20% compared to the previous model. With fast charging capabilities improved by 50% over its predecessor, you can watch two movies with just a 10-minute charge, and the 5-level Super Safe protection system monitors battery voltage, current, and temperature in real time to prevent accidents and maintain battery efficiency.

The Mate 9 features an enhanced second-generation module of the Leica Dual Camera, which was first introduced in Huawei's flagship smartphone P9 and received a great response. Born from the collaboration between Huawei and Leica Camera, the second-generation Leica Dual Camera is expected to set a new standard for smartphone photography with its more sophisticated optical performance.

While maintaining the distinctive design sensibility of the Mate series, the Huawei Mate 9 features a more convenient and aesthetically pleasing exterior with a 5.9-inch FHD display. In particular, it incorporates a high-precision unibody metal frame produced through a large-scale R&D process involving 50 special processes spanning 15 days and approximately one hour of CNC milling. Furthermore, the design realizes over 25 years of accumulated expert experience, including a soft touch achieved through sandblasting and a wide range of color options.
