Lenovo Korea, Innovative 3-in-1 Laptop for the Touch Generation

Lenovo Korea (www.lenovo.com/kr) held a new product launch event at Patio Nine in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, and launched the 'Yoga Book' in Korea, a true 3-in-1 that perfectly combines the productivity of a laptop, the portability of a tablet, and the sensibility of a notepad capable of handwriting.

Lenovo's Yoga Book presents a new approach to input methods by offering an easy-to-use yet intuitive user experience to the so-called "touch generation," which is leading recent market trends. Furthermore, moving beyond traditional 2-in-1 devices, it pioneered a new field known as the "3-in-1" by providing an innovative user experience that bridges the gap between analog and digital.

The Yoga Book will be released in two versions, one equipped with Windows 10 and the other with Android 6.0 Marshmallow. In particular, the Android version features a customized "Book UI," providing an environment similar to a standard PC. Furthermore, it offers excellent productivity by supporting additional functions not available on existing Android tablets, such as keyboard shortcuts and a mouse cursor, as well as multitasking that allows multiple apps to be run simultaneously. In addition, you can conveniently use running or preferred applications through the taskbar.

The Yoga Book made a new attempt to break away from conventional input methods by eliminating the physical keyboard and equipping it with a digital keyboard called the "Silent Keyboard." The full-size touch-backlit keyboard features built-in haptic feedback, providing a typing environment comparable to a physical keyboard, and is characterized by the ability to be used freely without noise even in quiet places such as libraries.

When the 'Silent Keyboard' is disabled, it switches to a new input device called the Create Pad. The Create Pad and 'Real Pen,' equipped with Wacom's Wacom feel technology, detect up to 2,048 levels of pressure and 100 degrees of tilt, providing professional-grade drawing capabilities. In particular, the 'Real Pen' features interchangeable stylus and ink tips, allowing it to be used on both paper and the Create Pad. In addition, it is convenient as it not only instantly converts notes written on paper into digital format but also requires no battery replacement.

The Yoga Book weighs 690 grams, which is about half the weight of a standard 13.3-inch laptop, and is 9.6mm thick, with the thinnest part measuring just 4.05mm when unfolded. This is comparable to the thickness of a Monami ballpoint pen, boasting the lightest and thinnest design among currently released 2-in-1 devices with a keyboard and a display of 10.1 inches or larger.

In addition, thanks to a large-capacity battery of up to 8500mAh and Intel's low-power technology, the Android version supports up to 15 hours of usage time and the Windows version up to 13 hours, making it suitable for users who are frequently on the move.

Equipped with a 25.6cm (10.1-inch) Full HD IPS (1920 x 1200) display, the Yoga Book boasts a stylish design reminiscent of an actual diary. At the same time, it is crafted from a magnesium and aluminum alloy unibody to provide exceptional durability, and features Lenovo's signature watch band hinge to add elegance.

In addition, it is equipped with Intel’s Atom quad-core processor, 4GB of DDR3 RAM, and 64GB of storage, and supports MicroSDHC up to 128GB, allowing for capacity expansion. In addition, it is also suitable for entertainment purposes, such as by being equipped with Dolby Atmos (Android version, Windows version: Dolby Audio Premium) to deliver vivid sound.

Kang Yong-nam, CEO of Lenovo Korea, stated, “Modern people, accustomed to the internet and touch technology, prefer simple and intuitive technology. While tablets are the most suitable devices for these consumers, they fell short in terms of productivity when it came to replacing PCs. This new product not only combines the advantages of laptops, tablets, and notepads but also significantly improves productivity through the diversification of input methods via the 'Silent Keyboard' and 'Real Pen,' as well as the Book UI.” He added, “The 'Yoga Book' is a product in a new category never seen before, and it will offer a new user experience to consumers who are used to touch technology.”

The Android version of the 'Yoga Book' is priced at 599,000 won, and the Windows version at 699,000 won; it will be available for purchase on 11st starting November 10. The Android version will be released as a WiFi model in Champagne Gold and Gunmetal Gray, while the Windows version will be available in Carbon Black WiFi and 4G LTE models. The 4G LTE version is scheduled to be released through LG U+ in December.

Meanwhile, Lenovo Korea is holding a customer appreciation event with 11st starting on the 10th to commemorate the launch of the 'Yoga Book'.
