ST, Collaborating with Valens to Implement Next-Generation Connected Car Technology

Valens and STMicroelectronics (hereinafter ST) have announced their collaboration to apply HDBaseT Automotive to next-generation connected cars.
This highly efficient technology optimizes in-vehicle connectivity by transmitting infotainment, traffic safety features, and automotive control content at high throughput of 6Gbps while requiring low infrastructure construction costs and near-zero latency.
Valens, which initially developed HDBaseT and established the HDBaseT Alliance, will provide technology and expertise for the commercialization of HDBaseT-based automotive solutions. ST will contribute its extensive design and process experience as well as expertise in meeting stringent automotive quality and reliability requirements.
Dror Jerushalmi, CEO of Valens, stated, "This is an important moment in Valens' vision to optimize in-vehicle connectivity, and we are pleased to welcome ST as a key partner toward this goal. ST will help accelerate the market launch of HDBaseT Automotive."

ST's motion sensing chip certified for Google Daydream and Tango platforms

TI Unveils Multi-Axis Coreless Current Sensor TMCS2100-Q1 for HEV/EV Traction Inverters
Texas Instruments has unveiled the TMCS2100-Q1, a multi-axis coreless Hall-effect current sensor for HEV and EV traction inverters. By simultaneously measuring horizontal and vertical magnetic fields through multi-axis sensing technology, it achieves up to 20 times higher accuracy compared to conventional single-axis sensors, while the busbar-unmodified design provides mechanical design flexibility.
