Development of '3D Scan Plus', a full-body photo scanning device
Differentiation from existing products that were expensive and had limited uses

Makeshape Co., Ltd., a 3D printing and modeling specialist, has launched a full-body photo scanning device called ‘3D Scan Plus.’

'3D Scan Plus' is a 3D modeling device that is 2.2m high and 3m wide, surrounded by 17 pillars, and a total of 102 cameras simultaneously capture the subject. It transmits 102 photos using wireless communication, enabling precise 3D modeling in a short period of time of about 10 minutes.

Compared to existing expensive and limited-use handy 3D scanners, this scanner can quickly and precisely capture and model almost any object in 3D, depending on the number and size of the cameras.

'3D Scan Plus' also has the portability that is the strength of a handy scanner. It is divided into three stages by pillar and is not fixed, so it is easy to assemble and disassemble.

Makeshape CTO Ho-Jun Kim said, “This product is competitively priced at about one-fifth of the price of 3D studio products made using expensive DSLR cameras in Germany and other overseas countries,” and “We expect to see a lot of interest and growing demand in markets such as wedding figures right away.”

Since its establishment in April 2015, the company began developing its own 3D printing operating app and 3D source file production in June of the same year, developing a full-body 3D scanner, and successfully developing a 3D hologram displayer in November. It began developing a 3D studio this year and completed it in June.
