Fairchild Semiconductor converter that resolves compatibility issues in I2C bus applications
Configurable dual voltage converter, buffer, and repeater ideal for consumer products and mobile phones
Mobile product designers require low-power 2-bit voltage level converters to resolve the different voltage compatibility issues arising from I2C applications in consumer products and mobile phones. To meet these demands, Fairchild Semiconductor has developed the FXMA2102, a dual-voltage configurable converter and a level shifter that changes voltage levels for I2C bus interface applications.
The FXMA2102 is a high-performance converter developed for bidirectional voltage conversion between two voltage level differences of 1.65V and 5.5V. The two ports of this product have an automatic direction recognition function, so they recognize an input signal, assign it to one port, and assign the other port as an output port to transmit the signal.
Fairchild products support standard and fast I2C bus modes and perform the functions of transformers, buffers, and repeaters. Additionally, the FXMA2102 is power-independent, so the order in which VCC is applied is not an issue. I/O supports all possible component configurations by tracking VCC voltage levels. Furthermore, open-drain I/O supports products capable of operating in push-pull and open-drain environments.
