Fairchild's High-Efficiency Conversion Solution for Smartphone Backlight Devices
Small 1mm² Boost switch capable of reducing board space by up to 60% in smartphone designs
As the mobile phone market grew and the usage and growth rate of smartphones increased significantly, designers faced the challenge of adding functionality while reducing the number of components and structural size of the overall design. To meet these customer demands, Fairchild developed the FDZ3N513ZT, an N-channel, Schottky diode combination in a small area of 1mm x 1mm.
The FDZ3N513ZT is an essential component of the Boost converter that drives white LEDs in a serial string to illuminate smartphone screens and keypads.
This solution achieved low switching losses through the precise optimization of dynamic features, resulting in high-efficiency conversion and extended battery life in mobile phones.
The FDZ3N513ZT incorporates an N-channel MOSFET and a Schottky diode with a particularly low input capacitance (45pF) and total gate charge (1nC) to improve efficiency in Boost converter designs.
The FDZ3N513ZT is packaged in a 1mm x 1mm WL-CSP package and is 1.6mm x
