Axis Launches Modular Network Cameras with Affordable Performance
Published2016.12.27 15:43Axis Communications has launched two new products in its modular network camera lineup, the AXIS P12 series, the 'AXIS P1254' and 'AXIS P1264'.
AXIS P1254 is a bullet-style network camera consisting of an AXIS F1004 bullet sensor unit (lens and image sensor) and an AXIS P12 Mk II main unit (camera body). AXIS P1264 is a non-displayed pinhole network camera consisting of an AXIS F1004 pinhole sensor unit and an AXIS P12 Mk II main unit. Both products are designed for indoor use.
Axis' modular network cameras consist of a sensor device and a camera body connected by a long cable. This allows only a small sensor device to be installed in the surveillance area, while the camera body can be positioned far from the surveillance location. This makes them ideal for applications requiring discreet installation or monitoring extremely confined spaces.
AXIS P1254 and AXIS P1264 deliver HDTV 720p video. Compared to existing AXIS P12 Series models, the new models feature a smaller body, better image quality in low-light and variable lighting conditions, improved video analytics, and a more reasonable price. Additionally, the new product supports Zipstream, Axis' compression technology, to reduce bandwidth and storage usage, has a built-in micro SD card slot for storing video recordings on local storage, and supports PoE.

The AXIS P1254 sensor unit is shaped like a small, cylindrical bullet, with a base no larger than the palm of your hand. It can be tilted and rotated to any desired orientation, making it easy to install on walls or ceilings. It is ideal for use in stores, kiosks, hotels, banks, and offices. The sensor unit has a horizontal field of view of 102 degrees.
The AXIS P1264's ultra-small pinhole sensor unit is installed on the back of a small hole drilled into a metal, glass, or plastic panel, making it virtually invisible. It's ideal for installation in confined spaces, such as ATMs, ticket machines, and vending machines, or where security cameras need to be installed discreetly. The sensor unit has a horizontal field of view of 57 degrees.

The AXIS F1004 Bullet Sensor Unit, the sensor unit for AXIS P1254, and the AXIS F1004 Pinhole Sensor Unit, the sensor unit for AXIS P1264, are available individually as part of the AXIS F Series. They can also be used with the AXIS F34 and AXIS F44 main units, which support up to four sensor units. The AXIS F series includes a variety of compatible main units and sensor devices, and all products can be purchased individually, giving customers the freedom to choose the product that best suits their needs.
