Axis Communications has released the AXIS Q6155-E, a PTZ dome network camera with laser focus capabilities.

Laser focus is a technology that enables fast and accurate automatic focusing even in poor lighting environments. The laser beam built into the AXIS Q6155-E quickly measures the distance between the camera and the object to accurately focus.

The AXIS Q6155-E provides clear and accurate video images even in poor weather or lighting conditions by utilizing laser focus, Axis Lightfinder technology, and Axis Speed Dry. It is also equipped with Sharp Dome technology that allows monitoring up to 20 degrees above the camera horizon, and supports 30x optical zoom for HDTV 1080p video.

The AXIS Q6155-E is a high-end PTZ camera useful in situations where people or objects must be accurately and quickly distinguished. It is primarily suitable for crime prevention, perimeter protection, and critical infrastructure protection, and is also well-suited for use in transportation facilities, educational institutions, industrial facilities, and government agencies. Pan, tilt, and zoom (PTZ) are fast and accurate, providing high-accuracy video in any direction.

In particular, it also supports Axis’s video compression technology Zipstream, which reduces bandwidth and storage usage by an average of 50% while preserving important images essential for surveillance or security, such as tattoos, faces, and license plates, in high quality.

The AXIS Q6155-E supports video management software based on the Axis Camera Station as well as the Axis Application Development Partner Program. Through the Axis Camera Application Platform, third-party video analysis applications can be installed directly on the camera, and because it supports ONVIF, it can be easily integrated with existing heterogeneous video surveillance systems.
