October 27, 2011 – Intersil, a global leader in the design and production of high-performance analog and mixed-signal semiconductors, announced today the release of the 'ISL55211', a wideband differential amplifier that provides very low noise. The product requires only a single 3.3V power supply and offers a low standby current of 35mA (155mW).
The ISL55211 is an ultra-low distortion, high-speed differential amplifier that drives high-performance ADCs such as the company's 14-bit ISLA214P50, minimizing degradation of the ADC's existing performance. The product offers three fixed gain settings: 2x, 4x, and 5x, maintaining low output noise of 10 nV/√Hz or less and a constant broadband of 1.4 GHz for all gain settings.
The ISL55211 requires a single 3.3V power supply and consumes a low standby current of 35mA (155mW). The power-off function reduces the supply current to less than 400 microamps while biasing the output at common-mode voltage. This protects the attached ADC from damage and reduces transient recovery time when exiting power-off mode. The product is ideal for applications requiring a fixed-gain amplifier to drive high-speed ADCs in data acquisition systems, instrumentation systems, and communication equipment. The ISL55211 is the company's second differential amplifier product released following the ISL55210.
