LG Electronics Expands Home Projector Market with Premium ProBeam TV

LG Electronics is launching a premium projector with portability in the domestic market on the 6th.
The 'LG ProBeam TV' (model name: HF80JA) is a premium projector that combines the portability of the existing 'LG MiniBeam TV' with enhanced brightness and resolution. This product delivers 2,000 ANSI Lumens—equivalent to the brightness of 2,000 lit candles simultaneously—at Full HD (1,920x1,080) resolution, which is over 500 ANSI Lumens brighter than the existing LG MiniBeam TV.
LG Electronics modified the engine structure that projects images as light, focusing on portability and performance. The engine structure was optimized from the existing 'L' shape to an 'I' shape, reducing the horizontal length by 10.8cm. Compared to office and home theater projectors with similar performance, it weighs only 2.1kg—half the weight—making it convenient for users to relocate. The product also operates quietly at 26-30dB, comparable to library noise levels.
While optimizing the engine structure, the product design was also changed. The lens is positioned centrally on the front of the unit for stability, and the overall product shape is designed as a cylindrical form with an elliptical base.
Additionally, LG Electronics considered the projector's convenience. By applying webOS 3.0, the smart TV platform, to the projector, users can enjoy video services provided by pooq and Tving using only wireless internet without set-top boxes or PCs and other peripheral devices.
"With the bright and clear 'LG ProBeam TV,' we will continue to lead the home projector market," said Dae-ki Son, FD Marketing Manager for LG Electronics Korea HE Division.
