Xilinx Korea (Country Manager Ahn Heung-sik) October 28, 2011 – Xilinx announced that its new 7 Series FPGA devices, which began shipping this past March, have earned over 200 awards in just six months, solidifying its position as the undisputed leader in the industry. To date, Xilinx has sold thousands of Virtex®-7 and KINTEX™-7 FPGAs worldwide, which are currently being used in a wide range of applications, from high-performance defense RADAR systems and next-generation 200G wired communication bridges to ultra-high-resolution medical imaging equipment and state-of-the-art test and measurement equipment.
Through the formidable combination of market-leading devices and an integrated 28nm architecture, Xilinx has been able to launch products faster than any other company in the PLD industry. In addition to providing customers with 28nm technology at industry-leading speeds, Xilinx 7 Series FPGAs optimally combine logic, DSP, and high-speed serial channels to deliver peak performance while meeting common requirements such as low power.

Xilinx is supplying the highest bandwidth systems with the Virtex-7 FPGA and meeting the demanding cost and power requirements of various applications in the fastest-growing sector of the FPGA market with the Kintex-7 FPGA. The Artix™-7 FPGA, the final product in the 7 Series family, is scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2012.
