Malware detection solution integrated into malware analysis system 'Joe Sandbox'
The data sanitization feature allows original files to be analyzed in a sandbox.

Insec Security announced that it has formed a technology partnership with Opswat, a company specializing in malware detection, and Joe Security, a malware analysis solution company, to enhance the detection and blocking performance of ransomware, APT attacks, and malware, and to launch an integrated security product.

To this end, the two companies integrated Opswat's malware detection solution, Metadefender, into Joe Security's automated malware analysis system, JoeSandbox. Based on the JoeSandbox interface, files can be scanned and hashes analyzed using Metadefender Core, which is provided by more than 30 anti-malware engines, and the results can be verified through JoeSandbox's analysis reports.

In addition, through MetaDefender Core's Data Disposal (CDR) function, the original file is analyzed in a sandbox, while a safe, sanitized version of the file is used.



Joe Security collaborates with Opswat as a MetaDefender Authorized Technology Partner, and the two companies' integrated product increases detection rates through dynamic/static/hybrid analysis and simulation analysis, and automates malware analysis on virtual/physical machines.

The threat detection and defense technology of MetaDefender Core, enhanced through Joe Security, checks for vulnerabilities in the entire downloaded binary and applies multi-scanning and heuristics techniques for managing known and unknown threats. In addition, to protect corporate data from spoofing attacks, it is possible to verify file types and perform archive extraction capable of responding to archive bombs by increasing malware detection rates.
