SanDisk Launches High-Speed, High-Capacity USB Flash Drive

Western Digital (WDC) announced the launch of its fastest, highest-capacity USB flash drive, the 256GB* SanDisk Extreme PRO USB 3.1 solid-state flash drive.
This product offers SSD-level speed, capacity, and reliability in a compact USB flash drive form factor, making it ideal for users sharing large files.
Western Digital claims this drive offers read speeds of up to 420MB/s and write speeds of 380MB/s, enough to transfer a 4K movie in under 15 seconds. The USB 3.1 interface also allows for quick access and transfer of files on the go. It is said to have a durable aluminum metal case and a retractable connector.
“This product, which delivers SSD performance in a compact USB form factor, offers outstanding performance and convenience for moving files quickly and easily,” said Shim Young-cheol, head of distribution business division of Western Digital’s SanDisk Korea. “The SanDisk Extreme Pro USB 3.1 Solid State Flash Drive, which offers large capacity and extremely fast speeds, is the best-styled and highest-performing SanDisk product.”
The SanDisk Extreme Pro solid-state flash drive comes in capacities up to 256GB, features 128-bit file encryption and password protection via SanDisk SecureAccess software to protect your files, and is backed by a limited lifetime warranty.
The 256GB SanDisk Extreme Pro USB 3.1 Solid State Flash Drive is available now for a suggested retail price of $250.

Databricks Unveils Open AI Security Monitoring 'Lakewatch'
Databricks entered the security market on March 24 by unveiling LakeWatch, an open-source agentic SIEM. The core functionality of this product is to integrate and analyze security, IT, and business data in a single environment to support AI-based threat detection and investigation. The company explained that it reduces the limitations of existing security operations centers, which have had to forgo some data due to high cost structures, and enables large-scale data analysis and automation based on open formats and ecosystems.
