Expansion of application fields and performance enhancement of FDM 3D printed parts

Stratasys Ltd. (Nasdaq:SSYS) announced that it is collaborating with Dassault Systèmes to implement next-generation design tools for improving the performance and efficiency of manufacturing parts and optimizing weight for additive manufacturing.

The two companies collaborated to support Stratasys FDM® 3D printers and materials in the design and simulation functions of Dassault Systèmes' 3DEXPERIENCE platform.

The two companies provide tools to optimize designs to reduce part weight, thereby lowering fuel consumption and manufacturing costs, expand the application fields of load-bearing FDM 3D printed parts, and support part certification. It was also stated that it provides more in-depth insights into the residual stress and performance of FDM 3D printed parts.
