Reduces sound distortion and minimizes loss of acoustic information

LG Electronics will equip the G6 with an upgraded Quad DAC (Digital to Analog Converter). The new Quad DAC is supplied by ESS, a company specializing in high-performance audio chipsets.

A DAC is a device that converts digital audio signals consisting of 0s and 1s into analog audio signals that humans can hear, and it is installed in smartphones in the form of a chip.

Unlike the previous model, the new Quad DAC controls the audio signals of the left and right earphones separately, efficiently reducing noise in each. It also finely adjusts the sound balance, allowing listeners to experience a three-dimensional sensation as if they were listening to music live at a concert.

The DAC has increased circuit integration, reducing sound distortion to 0.0002% and minimizing the loss of acoustic information to provide sound close to the original.

In addition, the path for transmitting sound signals within the chip has been widened. It can process large-capacity, high-quality audio sources quickly and accurately, allowing listeners to enjoy large-capacity 32-bit Hi-Fi audio sources clearly and without interruption.
