The government has decided to launch various programs to foster the startup ecosystem.

On the 14th, the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning and the Small and Medium Business Administration held an integrated business briefing session for the 'K Global Project,' an ICT venture support program for startups and prospective startups, at Sangam Nurikim Square.

To solidify the startup ecosystem, the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning plans to establish 'customized specialized projects' that reflect regional needs and promote the transfer of technologies held by local universities and government-funded research institutes. In addition, they announced plans to diversify investment methods, provide close support to promising venture companies, promote public technology-based businesses, and expand overseas contacts by operating an 'Overseas Investor Support Center.'

This briefing session was held in collaboration with the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning as well as affiliated organizations such as the Korea Information and Communications Technology Promotion Agency (KIPA), the Korea Data Agency (KDATA), the Information and Communications Technology Promotion Center (ICT), Born2Global, the K-ICT Startup Mentoring Center, the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA), the Korea Radio Promotion Agency (KOCCA), and the National Information Society Agency (NIA).

The K-Global initiative implemented by the government includes programs such as support for promising ICT technology development, ICT application technology development (loan) support, smart devices, DB-Stars, Data Global, support for startup multinationalization, activation of smart content hubs, Re-Startup (package type/private investment linkage/localization), accelerator incubation, competitions, overseas expansion support projects, startup mentoring support projects, support for cloud-based software development environments, security startups, smart media, big data startup technology support, and the provision of advanced global education.

The program is broadly divided into investment support, infrastructure and consulting, educational support, and competitions.

The ICT Promising Technology Development Support and Re-Startup Programs are available to prospective and re-entrepreneurs, and depending on the support type, support is provided only if a connection with private investment firms is made or if investment is secured. There are cases where the conditions are met.

If you have created a smart device prototype or are preparing to launch a startup with an idea, you can utilize competition programs. These include initiatives for smart devices, DB-Stars, startup competitions (general/IoT new product development), and smart media.

If you wish to expand overseas or hire foreign nationals, you can utilize the Data Global and Multinationalization Support programs. While support is provided for product localization, there are also types that offer marketing assistance.

Organizing various programs ranging from investment support to consulting and competitions

If you require office space, training, or consulting, the activation of the Smart Content Hub, technical support for big data startups, startup mentoring programs, software development environment support, the Born2Global Centre's overseas expansion support program, and advanced global education provision are helpful. You can be assigned a venture entrepreneur as a mentor to receive assessments on technology and management matters, and educational programs for startup preparation are also provided. Utilizing the advanced global education program allows you to build business partnerships and receive local mentoring in the United States.

The accelerator program is open to domestic corporations that support the discovery, investment, mentoring, and overseas expansion of startups. Security startups are open to working professionals and students who intend to start a business with information security products or services related to information security, physical security, or convergence security.

Since government funds come from taxpayers' money, I hope you will prepare with the mindset that they must be recovered in some form,” adding, “The government has prepared many programs to act as a catalyst.” "It is your role to utilize the business wisely," he said, expressing both concern and expectation.
