Supports efficient power distribution from unregulated power to load end

Vicor has launched new DCM products, which are DC-DC converters mounted in ChiP packages.

Vicor explained that the DCM provided in ChiP packages is an isolated voltage regulator that generates isolated DC output voltage using various unregulated input voltages, and adopts high-frequency zero voltage switching (ZVS) topology to maintain consistently high efficiency across the input line range.



The modular DCM converter and downstream DC-DC products support efficient power distribution. Additionally, they provide excellent power system performance and connectivity from unregulated power sources to the point-of-load.

The products launched by Vicor this time are 30V nominal input modules (9-50V range) in 3623 chip packages (1.52 x 0.90 x 0.29 inches) applicable to various applications such as UAVs, ground vehicles, radar, traffic and industrial control, and achieve maximum power density of 404 W/in³ with an output voltage range of 15V and maximum power rating of 160W, the company said.

Another new product is the 4623 ChiP package with 275V nominal input (120-420V range) delivering 24V/375W output and achieving power density of 775W/in³.
