SK Telecom announced that it has signed a contract with Asia Developer, a specialized real estate planning and development company, to introduce a new concept 'voice recognition smart home apartment' that combines voice recognition devices, artificial intelligence, and smart home functions in apartments.
The project will be built with 1,226 units in Pangyobaekhyeon-dong in 2021. A total of 5,500 voice recognition AI devices 'NUGU' will be installed in the living room and each bedroom of every unit.
In addition to basic functions such as playing music and checking schedules, 'NUGU' is integrated with SK Telecom's smart home service to enable voice control of convenience features in the home such as lighting, heating, gas shutoff valves, and elevator calls.

Additionally, when residents purchase other home appliances linked with SK Telecom's smart home service, such as air conditioners or air purifiers, voice recognition and easy control through smartphones are possible.
Both parties agreed to install the latest version of 'NUGU' at the time of completion and to connect functions that were previously used through wall pads, such as lighting, heating, door phones, gas shutoff valves, and elevator calls, with the smart home service.
In particular, the project operator decided to bear the 10-year smart home service usage fee on behalf of residents so that they can use the advanced artificial intelligence smart home functions without burden.
Sales will begin in the first half of this year with move-in scheduled for 2021, and the sales and management of the apartment will be handled by 'Seongnam R&D PF BV', a specialized project operator established by Asia Developer for efficient business operations.

LG Uplus is providing IoT services to officetel buildings constructed and supplied by real estate developer ㈜The Chaeum and construction company ㈜Daechang Enterprise in metropolitan areas for single-household customers.
