Gigabit Speed Delivery Based on SKU

Intel today announced the Intel XMM 7560 modem, stating it will support the global LTE modem market.

The Intel XMM 7560 modem, a fifth-generation LTE modem, is designed based on the tradition of high speed, low latency, and wireless innovation, delivering gigabit speeds in a single, global SKU.



The Intel XMM 7560 modem, which provides voice and data connectivity, is an LTE modem manufactured on Intel's 14-nanometer process.

The XMM 7560 modem supports LTE Advanced Pro download up to Category 16, exceeding 1 Gbps for downlink, and supports Category 13 for uplink at 225 Mbps.

The Intel XMM 7560 modem supports 5x carrier aggregation for combined downlink up to 100 MHz maximum. For high-speed data services, it supports 3x uplink up to 60 MHz maximum. This product additionally supports 4x4 MIMO and 256QAM to enhance speed.

The Intel XMM 7560 modem provides not only speed and flexibility but also scalability. The Intel SMARTi 7 transceiver supports up to 35 LTE bands, enabling carriers to build mobile devices with global communication coverage using a single SKU.

The Intel SMARTi 7 RF transceiver and Intel XMM 7560 platform support up to 230 carrier aggregation combinations.

Additionally, it provides multiple power optimization features such as envelope tracking, extending battery life across diverse devices from smartphones, phablets, and tablets to PCs.

With this announcement, Intel has not only expanded its LTE solution portfolio but also provided communications equipment manufacturers with the competitiveness to rapidly design and launch LTE devices across multiple global markets and countries.

The Intel XMM 7560 modem provides end-to-end communications roadmap as the industry transitions to 5G by adding functionality to Intel's extensive connectivity solution portfolio in 4G, NB-IoT, Wi-Fi, WiGig, and 5G.
