From startup conference rooms to prototype production, use SK Seoul Campus
Published2017.03.09 10:19SK Seoul Campus is transforming from a startup support space to a place for information and human exchange between startup companies. Some spaces will be opened to facilitate free exchange and cooperation, and a promising startup networking event called 'T Lounge' will be held.
The first stage of 'T Lounge' will be decorated with an explanation session on the current status of artificial intelligence technology and related services such as the artificial speaker 'NUGU'. At the event, startup companies can interact with experts and learn about SK's artificial intelligence business direction and the latest technology trends.
The conference room, which has been used as a space for resident companies so far, will be opened to external venture companies. The 'SK Seoul Campus' membership system will be introduced so that individual founders and small startups can also use it. Membership participants will receive startup-related news by email and receive guidance from business department managers.
Campus users have access to the on-campus prototyping lab and media room. The prototype manufacturing facility is equipped with 3D printers, laser cutters, UV printers, and more, while the media room is equipped with equipment needed to produce VR content and podcasts.
Startups can use the conference room space that can accommodate up to 40 people, the training center, and the Collabo Lounge (collaboration space) that can accommodate up to 30 people within the SK Seoul Campus for related events, seminars, and meetings by accessing and applying for the space through the reservation system ( http://sktincubator.com) .
SK Telecom's business division head Lee Jae-ho said, "I believe that the opening of T Lounge and SK Seoul Campus will contribute to revitalizing the startup ecosystem."

SK Telecom to showcase IoT and smart home technologies with startups at MWC
SK Telecom announced that it will jointly exhibit with 8 startups and small-to-medium enterprises that possess innovative technologies in the New ICT sector including IoT, smart home, and VR at MWC 2017. SK Telecom had previously displayed startup items as a separate section within its exhibition booth until last year, but starting this year, it is eliminating the division within the booth and jointly exhibiting items from both SK Telecom and startups according to the exhibition themes such as IoT and smart home. European Patent Applications Surpass 200,000 for the First Time… South Korea Maintains 5th Place, Led by Batteries and Telecommunications
According to the European Patent Office (EPO)'s 'Technology Dashboard 2025', European patent applications last year reached 201,974, surpassing 200,000 for the first time. Korean companies and inventors filed 14,355 applications, representing a 9.5% increase from the previous year and maintaining 5th place by country. Battery, digital communication, and semiconductor technologies led the growth, with Samsung ranking as the top EPO applicant for the second consecutive year and LG reaching 3rd place. SK Telecom First Applies AI-Based Network Operations at Gwanghwamun K-Pop Concert
SK Telecom announced that it applied an AI-based network operation system for the first time at a large-scale K-pop concert held in the Gwanghwamun area of Seoul on March 21st, managing communication quality throughout the event. Mobile data usage during the three hours before and after the concert reached 12.15TB, approximately doubling compared to the same time slot the previous weekend. SK Telecom monitored traffic using the AI system 'A-One' in five-minute and 50-meter units to respond to potential overload situations, while also operating temporary communication facilities and on-site personnel in parallel. This case is interpreted as confirmation of the practical applicability of AI-based autonomous network operation in an environment where demand from dense events and foreign users increases simultaneously.
