Smart factory security and OPC UA technology collaboration, an industry standard protocol
Strengthening capabilities with ThingSpin, an industrial IoT platform capable of integrated process data management.

MDS Technology announced that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Naonworks, a company specializing in industrial control system security, for “smart factory security business and OPC UA (Open Platform Communication Unified Architecture) technology cooperation.”

With this MOU, MDS Technology plans to provide network-to-network security solutions for smart factory security, including network-to-network connectivity outside the factory and network-to-network connectivity for industrial control protocol conversion and monitoring within the factory.

In addition, the two companies decided to strengthen their technical partnership and cooperation on OPC UA, an industrial standard protocol, and focus their business capabilities on OPC UA gateways that convert various heterogeneous industrial protocols to OPC UA, and ThingSPIN, an industrial IoT platform that can integrate and manage all process data to reduce costs and improve productivity.

MDS Technology CEO Jang Myeong-seop said, “The IoT environment that connects various objects and integrates them into an intelligent system is rapidly spreading across industries,” and added, “Through cooperation between our company, which has industry standard OPC UA-based technology, and Naonworks, which has security expertise, we will secure industrial facility control systems.”He said, “I will contribute to strengthening the inside.”
