Samsung SDS Unveils One-Stop Biometric Authentication Solution at IBM InterConnect
Published2017.03.22 11:38Samsung SDS participated in the IBM InterConnect 2017 event being held in Las Vegas and exhibited various solutions combined with IBM solutions.
It unveiled a 'one-stop biometric authentication solution' that integrates the biometric authentication solution Nexsign with IBM's account management solution ISAM (IBM Security Access Manager). Customers who visited the event noted that "with a single authentication, users can access various business systems of enterprises, significantly improving convenience and security."
Additionally, the 'Tablet Branch' service was also introduced, which enables new account opening and various contracts through biometric authentication functions without visiting banks or offices.
Furthermore, developers worldwide will be able to use the Nexsign solution module through IBM's application development cloud platform 'Bluemix,' enabling biometric authentication functionality without separate purchases or installation.
At this event, Samsung SDS also unveiled RMS (Remote Management Solution), which remotely manages displays utilizing IoT technology. It is a service that analyzes approximately 40 types of sensor data from digital signage equipment distributed across multiple locations to prevent equipment malfunctions in advance through real-time anomaly detection, root cause analysis, and failure point prediction. Through this, it is expected to optimize the operating time of digital signage advertisements and significantly reduce operational and maintenance costs.
Samsung SDS Solutions Business Division Head Hong Won-pyo stated, "Through cooperation with IBM, a global leading solutions company, we will strengthen the competitiveness of Samsung SDS solutions and accelerate market penetration overseas."

Databricks Unveils Open AI Security Monitoring 'Lakewatch'
Databricks entered the security market on March 24 by unveiling LakeWatch, an open-source agentic SIEM. The core functionality of this product is to integrate and analyze security, IT, and business data in a single environment to support AI-based threat detection and investigation. The company explained that it reduces the limitations of existing security operations centers, which have had to forgo some data due to high cost structures, and enables large-scale data analysis and automation based on open formats and ecosystems. LakeWatch is currently offered as a private preview, with Adobe and Dropbox mentioned as early customers. Databricks also announced an expanded partnership with Anthropic as well as the acquisition of Antimatter and SiftD.ai.
