Low power loss and high insulation resistance
Realization of robust industrial systems is possible

TI Korea announced the launch of the ISOW7841, a single-chip reinforced isolator that provides 80% higher power efficiency than existing integrated devices. It supports highly reliable operation of industrial systems such as factory automation, grid infrastructure, motor control, isolated power, and test and measurement equipment.

Unlike discrete solutions, it provides both isolated data and power, reducing BOM and board space and enabling easier and faster system authentication.

The ISOW7841 lowers the device operating temperature to a maximum of 40°C, enabling the implementation of systems with longer lifespans that deliver higher power and more channels than other integrated solutions. The simplified multi-channel system design increases system reliability and lifespan through reinforced insulation and an isolated operating voltage of 1 kVrms. Additionally, it enhances system signal integrity by minimizing system noise and providing Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) and Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC).

Developers can rapidly evaluate reinforced isolators using the ISOW7841EVM evaluation module. System design can begin immediately with integrated signal and power reference designs for isolated RS-485 and RS-232. Additionally, reference designs are available that allow for the easy integration of reinforced isolation and power into industrial grid designs.
