High-voltage and low-noise, zero-point adjustable Op-amps that extend system operating time and improve sensor performance
Maxim Integrated Products (NASDAQ: MXIM) has launched the MAX44251, a 20V, ultra-precision, low-noise dual op-amp that extends system uptime, reduces maintenance time, and maximizes sensor performance. Proprietary zero-alignment technology enables continuous self-correction to ensure system accuracy against variations in time, temperature, and power. The precision achieved over a wide operating range of 2.7V to 20V (initial offset of less than 6µV) provides performance unmatched by competitors. This ultra-precision performance improves system accuracy and minimizes errors during signal conditioning.
Furthermore, the accuracy maintained over the device's wide voltage range enables more flexible use of this op-amp in various designs and applications. The MAX44251 provides excellent RF immunity filters that eliminate unwanted RF signals often encountered in industrial and medical applications, as well as superior efficiency and power savings without sacrificing performance. Low current consumption of 1.15 mA per channel delivers an exceptional gain bandwidth of 10 MHz for high-voltage zero-tunable op-amps and the industry's lowest noise (5.9 nV/√Hz input reference voltage). The MAX44251 is suitable for high-voltage applications requiring ultra-low noise and very high DC precision, such as interfacing with pressure sensors, strain gauges, precision scales, and medical instruments.
The MAX44251 provides near-zero DC offset and drift using proprietary auto-correlation and zero-adjustment techniques. Zero-adjustment continuously measures and compensates for the input offset to eliminate drift due to time and temperature, as well as the effects of 1/f noise. A low input offset voltage of 6 μV (max) and a voltage-temperature drift of 19 nV/°C (max) maintain precision over the range of -40°C to +125°C. Zero-adjustment offset correction also eliminates the effects of power supply fluctuations and common-mode deviation.
The MAX44251 high-speed (10 MHz) zero-adjustable op-amp adds high-precision performance in addition to the industry's lowest noise. The device's Power Supply Rejection Ratio (PSRR), Common Mode Rejection Ratio (CMRR), and Large Signal Voltage Gain (AVOL) exceed 135 dB at +25°C. This accuracy over a wide voltage range increases design flexibility and minimizes errors during signal conditioning.
