According to the '2017 IT Transformation Maturity Curve' survey released by Dell EMC, the majority of respondents (71%) stated that IT innovation is essential for business competitiveness, and a majority (95%) expressed a sense of crisis regarding falling behind competitors that have achieved digital transformation in areas such as IT infrastructure and business processes.
Dell EMC stated that companies that have achieved IT innovation are twice as likely to exceed their revenue targets compared to other companies, and are also more likely to accelerate product innovation or new product launches.
This survey was conducted by the global market research firm ESG (Enterprise Strategy Group) and targeted 1,000 IT executives and decision-makers, including CIOs, at enterprise companies in seven countries: the United States, Brazil, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, China, Japan, and Australia.
ESG classified the IT transformation progress of the surveyed companies into a total of four stages based on IT infrastructure and business processes. ▲ The <Stage 1> group, which remains in traditional IT infrastructure, accounted for 12%; ▲ The <Stage 2> group, which has just started IT innovation by adopting minimal modern data center technology, accounted for 42%; ▲ The <Stage 3> group, which has entered a mature stage by adopting technology and infrastructure for IT innovation, accounted for 41%; and ▲ The <Stage 4> group, which has completed IT transformation, accounted for 5%.
David Gouldendell, President of the company, stated that this survey reveals the reality that companies in the final stages of digital transformation are merely a fraction of the whole, and that most respondents feel fear toward competitors who are ahead in innovation. He added that since companies that have actually achieved innovation hold a noticeable advantage in achieving business goals and competitiveness, a shift in perception is urgently needed to view digital transformation as an investment rather than a cost.

SalePoint Signs Multi-Year Partnership Agreement with AWS… Promoting Identity Security that Integrates Even AI Agents
Sailpoint has entered into a multi-year strategic partnership agreement with AWS and is moving forward with establishing an integrated governance system that manages both human and non-human identities together. Databricks Unveils Open AI Security Monitoring 'Lakewatch'
Databricks entered the security market on March 24 by unveiling LakeWatch, an open-source agentic SIEM. The core functionality of this product is to integrate and analyze security, IT, and business data in a single environment to support AI-based threat detection and investigation. The company explained that it reduces the limitations of existing security operations centers, which have had to forgo some data due to high cost structures, and enables large-scale data analysis and automation based on open formats and ecosystems. LakeWatch is currently offered as a private preview, with Adobe and Dropbox mentioned as early customers. Databricks also announced an expanded partnership with Anthropic as well as the acquisition of Antimatter and SiftD.ai.

Ecolab Expands AI Data Center Cooling Business Through Acquisition of CoolIT
Ecolab has agreed to acquire CoolIT Systems, a liquid cooling company for AI data centers, for approximately $4.75 billion. The transaction is expected to close by Q3 2026, subject to regulatory approvals. CoolIT has been supplying direct-to-chip cooling-based coolant distribution units, cold plates, and manifolds, serving hyperscale data centers and colocation operators as customers. This acquisition is a measure to address the high-heat and high-density server environments created by AI proliferation. Ecolab plans to combine its water management and digital monitoring capabilities with CoolIT's hardware technology to expand its data center cooling business.
