Experience available in 72-pyeong and 46-pyeong rooms at Gonjiam Resort
Smartphone capable of remote IoT control available for rental during stay

LG Uplus will convert guest rooms at Gonjiam Resort into 'IoT Experience Rooms' starting May, allowing customers to directly experience IoT services in a real-life setting.

This is the first time a general lodging facility has been configured as an IoT service experience room, and guests using the IoT experience room can proceed with service subscription on-site if they wish to sign up after trying the service.

Among the four room types at Gonjiam Resort, one 72-pyeong room (Royal Room), the largest floor plan, and one 46-pyeong room (Noble Room) will operate as IoT experience rooms. The IoT experience rooms are equipped with six types of LG Uplus IoT services including Home CCTV, Door Opening Alerts, and Smart Plugs, as well as three types of IoT home appliances: air purifiers, robot vacuum cleaners, and humidifiers.

Guests using the IoT experience rooms can configure various modes just as they would in their own homes, such as lights automatically turning off and the robot vacuum cleaner operating when leaving the room. When outside, guests can check real-time video footage from inside the room through Home CCTV on their smartphone.

For guests using the IoT experience rooms, a smartphone capable of remote control of the IoT services and products installed in the room is provided for rental during their stay.

Ko Sung-pil, IoT Marketing Manager at LG Uplus, stated, "Based on the operation of our IoT experience zones, customer satisfaction and subscription rates among those who directly used the service were significantly higher compared to those who did not," and added, "The IoT experience rooms will provide an opportunity for customers to directly use the service in a real-life environment and determine whether the products are necessary for them."
