Fitbit will begin official domestic sales of its new product, Fitbit Alta HR, in early May.
The Alta HR adds PurePulse, a technology that monitors real-time, cumulative heart rate 24/7, to the existing Alta, and incorporates a new "sleep stage" feature, according to the company. It also offers enhanced health management features. The newly added "sleep stage" feature automatically measures sleep time using PurePulse, analyzes sleep quality in detail, and provides personalized tips for a good night's sleep, helping to foster a healthy lifestyle.
The PurePulse feature measures your cumulative heart rate in real time, 24 hours a day, to maximize exercise effectiveness and accurately measure calorie consumption, helping you manage and improve your health. The Sleep Stage feature automatically detects your sleep status through real-time heart rate monitoring, measuring light sleep, deep sleep, and REM sleep. It also measures your wake time each night to precisely analyze the user's sleep efficiency.
Sleep Insights uses Fitbit's largest sleep database to compare users' sleep patterns with those of similar age and gender groups and provide personalized tips for a good night's sleep. SmartTrack automatic exercise monitoring automatically recognizes the intensity and pattern of movement and automatically measures, records, and analyzes exercise statistics such as activity time, calories burned, and heart rate zones.
The OLED tab display provides activity reminders to motivate you to reach your step goals, and you can monitor and analyze your activity in real time with a single tap. The long-lasting battery allows for up to 7 days of use[1] on a full charge. Interchangeable accessory bands allow you to create a variety of styles to suit your individual style.
The official domestic price of the Alta HR is 199,000 won, and the basic Classic Band comes in four colors: black, blue gray, fuchsia, and coral. The Luxe Leather Band in brown, lavender, and indigo, as well as the Luxe Metal Band in stainless steel, will be sold separately and the price has not yet been set. In addition, Fitbit will release the Alta HR Special Edition in two colors for consumers who want to create an even more unique style: black/gunmetal and soft pink/rose gold, and the price has not yet been set.

Apple and Google: Who Will Be First to Introduce a Healthcare Smartwatch?
According to trends announced by DigiEco, Apple is developing a smartwatch capable of blood glucose monitoring without blood draws. If a non-invasive blood glucose monitoring sensor is developed, it is expected to usher in an era of smartwatches capable of collecting health data. U.S. CNBC reported that blood glucose monitoring sensor development has been planned since Steve Jobs' time, has undergone testing at clinical testing facilities, and is showing progress to the extent of recruiting experts to assist with legal certification procedures. Google has also unveiled Study Watch, a smartwatch for apparel research purposes. Verily, a life sciences subsidiary of Alphabet, announced the formal implementation of the Baseline Project for establishing biomarkers. This project collected data samples encompassing everything from cellular tissues to tears, urine, and other test results, conducting phase one testing on 175 subjects in the summer of 2014, and plans to expand it. Verily plans to conduct testing on 10,000 participants in collaboration with Duke Medical School and Stanford Medical School. The plan is to collect health-related data by providing sensors monitoring heart rate, skin electrical activity, and activity level; smartwatches capable of recording electrocardiogram data; terminals capable of monitoring sleep habits; and hub terminals necessary for data reception and transmission. Fourth quarter 2016 smartwatch shipments increased 16.9% compared to fourth quarter 2015. While terminals are increasing, they remain primarily low-cost fitness devices. Upon completion of Apple's and Google's projects, a new era of wearable terminals is expected to open, with shipments anticipated to increase substantially.
