To use the service, customers must agree to the Terms of Use and then select "U+ Cloud Storage" as the file storage location in the camera settings menu. The service will automatically save files to the cloud server. This method saves original files in real time, rather than through a backup system. Files saved to the cloud via a mobile phone can be downloaded directly to a PC.

The cloud features file splitting block download technology, which allows for simultaneous downloads of a single file into multiple parts, and file caching technology. This speeds up downloads and minimizes battery consumption. LG U+ has applied for patents for seven key technologies, including multi-session download technology.

Accordingly, the company explained that it developed the service in anticipation of the increased use of large files in the 5G era and the fact that the speed at which the internal memory of mobile phones increases will make it difficult to sufficiently meet customer needs.
