LG Electronics' webOS smart TV has been recognized for its security technology by obtaining international common evaluation criteria.

LG Electronics has received Common Criteria (CC) certification at EAL2 (Evaluation Assurance Level 2) for the application security features of its smart TV platform, webOS 3.5, from the IT Security Certification Office under the National Security Research Institute. CC certification is an international standard (ISO 15408) for evaluating the security of IT products, and its evaluation and certification results are mutually recognized in 27 countries worldwide, including the United States, Australia, France, and Japan.

LG webOS Smart TVs enhance security by incorporating the latest security technologies, including: blocking malicious app installations; preventing app tampering; controlling unauthorized system access; and encrypting apps to prevent copying. These TVs have received TTA Verified certification from the Telecommunications Technology Association of Korea and CAP (Cybersecurity Assurance Program) certification from Underwriters Laboratories (UL).
