Collaboration with Microsoft… Providing mixed reality-based training

Schneider Electric announced that it is launching cloud-based open IoT applications in collaboration with Microsoft.

Microsoft Azure has been integrated into Schneider's EcoStruxure, an integrated technology platform for energy management and process optimization. This enables the entire industrial sector to implement digital transformation, improve business decision-making, and increase process productivity and efficiency.

It provides state-of-the-art analytics tools, maintenance, and training solutions that can be easily integrated using an open EcoStruxure architecture and Azure's computing power. Additionally, it offers Mixed Reality capabilities through Microsoft's HoloLens. By presenting digital holograms and behavioral guidelines, it enhances the user experience (UX) for operators and maintenance personnel, while enabling process optimization and efficient energy management. This can improve worker safety, productivity, and efficiency in the fields of industrial maintenance, asset performance, and training.

Through simulations, realistic training is conducted to acquire professional job knowledge and reduce the time required to adapt to the field. Furthermore, it can reduce errors occurring in the field, enabling proactive and predictive maintenance.

In fact, the two companies contributed to improving drinking water quality management in Seminole County, Florida, USA. Seminole County applied big data solutions to enable plant managers and workers to check plant data on mobile phones, small terminals, and tablets, and to receive key operational data within minutes. Subsequently, workers were able to access process data quickly and easily and perform efficient work, resulting in improved quality that allows more than 440,000 residents to safely use drinking water.
