SMC Korea held at COEX on the 18th.
Covers trends and prospects related to semiconductor materials

SEMI, the International Association of Semiconductor Equipment and Materials, will hold the Strategic Materials Conference (SMC) Korea, a semiconductor electronic materials technology conference, at COEX in Samseong-dong, Seoul on May 18.

Under the theme of “Scaling Challenges - The Future of Materials,” this conference will cover in-depth topics such as ▲semiconductor material challenges for next-generation memory, ▲semiconductor material market outlook, ▲key process material technologies, ▲DRAM outlook, and ▲special gas pollution analysis and management.



Two keynote speakers will open SMC Korea. Dr. Ho-Young Yang of Tokyo Electron and James E. Ram, Technical Fellow at Brewer Science, will present the challenges of semiconductor materials in sub-10nm processes from the perspectives of semiconductor equipment manufacturers and materials suppliers, respectively. In addition, there will be presentations by 12 industry and academic experts from SK Hynix, Versum Materials, Suzhou Crystal Chemical, Lam Research Korea, ASE, BASF, JSR Corporation, Lake Materials, Screen, Hanyang University, Seoul National University, and Air Liquide-Balaz Nanoanalysis.

Regarding the hosting of this conference, Hyun-Dae Cho, CEO of SEMI Korea, said, “Even in the era of More than Moore, materials are a critical factor in determining the direction of the semiconductor process miniaturization competition, which is an ongoing challenge,” and “This conference will focus on next-generation materials technology that keeps pace with this market trend.”
