Siemens PLM Software announced the release of Solid Edge ST10, its 3D CAD solution.

Solid Edge ST10, the latest version of Solid Edge software, elevates every aspect of product development with new design technologies, enhanced fluid flow and heat transfer analysis, and cloud-based collaboration tools. Enhanced publishing tools enable interactive documentation creation and design sharing in the cloud.

Solid Edge ST10 enables you to optimize parts for additive manufacturing and obtain quotes, material selection, and delivery schedules from additive manufacturing service providers. Designers can improve product design efficiency with Siemens' unique convergent modeling technology and newly integrated topology optimization technology.

Convergent Modeling simplifies working with geometry composed of a combination of facets, surfaces, and solids, imported from third-party CAD files, or generated through topology optimization.

Additionally, enhanced Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) integration allows for efficient programming of CNC machine tools and the definition of complex sheet metal parts optimized for manufacturing processes. New additive manufacturing tools allow users to 3D print parts in-house or access a network of additive manufacturing services to optimize material selection and supply.

The newly launched Solid Edge portal simplifies communication within the product development cycle by providing a cloud-based solution for collaborating with other users, suppliers, and customers. Offering a new way to collaborate, the portal allows users to upload and manage files in the cloud, and also access Solid Edge and other common CAD application files.
