VMware supports virtual desktop and application deployment on Azure

VMware announced Horizon Cloud support for Microsoft's enterprise-grade cloud computing platform, Azure.
Horizon Cloud is a cloud service that allows for the free selection of infrastructure for the deployment and management of virtual desktops and applications based on a single cloud control plane. Customers can choose from various deployment options in accordance with VMware's cross-cloud strategy and flexibly change options based on changes in usage, employee mobility, or changes in the capital environment. Additionally, infrastructure can be managed on a Desktop-as-a-service (DaaS) based cloud that enables rapid scalability and cost prediction, and Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI) appliances can be introduced into on-premises infrastructure to control and secure the in-house Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environment.
In the future, Microsoft Azure customers will be able to manage Windows 10-based devices and applications and deploy virtual Windows applications through VMware Horizon Cloud. In addition, you can easily switch to the Windows 10 operating system and perform updates at a low cost, thereby enhancing the work convenience of the entire IT team.
Sumit Dhawan, Senior Vice President and President of End-User Computing at VMware headquarters, stated, “This collaboration between VMware and Microsoft will ensure a wide range of choices for customers in operating, managing, and deploying virtual desktops and applications,” adding, “VMware will continue to expand partnerships with various companies to support customers in accelerating business innovation by seamlessly navigating across all clouds.”
VMware plans to start supporting Horizon Cloud for Microsoft Azure in the second half of this year.

VMware Announces IoT Infrastructure Management Solution
VMware가 미국 라스베이거스에서 개최된 EMC 월드 2017에서 엔터프라이즈급 IoT 인프라 관리 솔루션 VMware Pulse IoT Center를 발표했다. VMware Pulse IoT Center는 VMware가 공개하는 첫 IoT 인프라 관리 솔루션으로, IoT 인프라에 필요한 엣지 시스템과 커넥티드 디바이스 사이를 유연하게 연결한다. VMware의 통합 엔드포인트 관리 솔루션 AirWatch와 디바이스 관리 기능은 모니터링 및 문제해결 기능을 활용해 서로 다른 하드웨어, 운영체제, 통신 프로토콜 기반의 엣지 시스템과 커넥티드 디바이스, 애플리케이션 사이를 연결하거나 관리, 감시, 보호한다. 정교하고 유연한 규칙 엔진에 따라 연결된 사물이 업데이트 혹은 변경되면 즉시 IT 관리자에게 현황을 보고하고 추적한다.

SalePoint Signs Multi-Year Partnership Agreement with AWS… Promoting Identity Security that Integrates Even AI Agents
Sailpoint has entered into a multi-year strategic partnership agreement with AWS and is moving forward with establishing an integrated governance system that manages both human and non-human identities together. The plan is to consistently manage access permissions in an environment where AI agents are increasing as work execution entities, while applying the principle of least privilege and automated policy enforcement. The two companies plan to jointly expand capabilities to manage the identities of various entities, including AI agents, within a single layer in the AWS environment. This collaboration is interpreted as a move to design security and governance together in corporate environments where AI adoption is expanding.

Databricks Unveils Open AI Security Monitoring 'Lakewatch'
Databricks entered the security market on March 24 by unveiling LakeWatch, an open-source agentic SIEM. The core functionality of this product is to integrate and analyze security, IT, and business data in a single environment to support AI-based threat detection and investigation. The company explained that it reduces the limitations of existing security operations centers, which have had to forgo some data due to high cost structures, and enables large-scale data analysis and automation based on open formats and ecosystems. LakeWatch is currently offered as a private preview, with Adobe and Dropbox mentioned as early customers. Databricks also announced an expanded partnership with Anthropic as well as the acquisition of Antimatter and SiftD.ai.
