LG Uplus Controls Small Home Appliances via IoT
Published2017.05.18 17:48LG Uplus announced on the 18th that it has decided to apply IoT technology to all small home appliances produced by Shinil Industrial, a comprehensive home appliance company.
LG Uplus and Shinil Industrial signed a business agreement at the LG Uplus headquarters and decided to start development by incorporating LG Uplus IoT technology into summer appliances manufactured by Shinil Industrial, such as fans, air circulators, and dehumidifiers, as well as winter appliances such as heaters, hot water mats, and hot air blowers, and environmental appliances such as water purifiers.
All of Shinil Industrial's products are compatible with LG Uplus's home IoT platform, the 'IoT@home' app, and IoT products are planned to be released starting with winter appliances at the end of this year.
When IoT products are released, users will be able to control small home appliances via smartphone. For example, in the case of a fan used during the summer, users can adjust the wind speed, direction, and timer using an app or simple voice commands without a separate remote control, even while lying down. In addition, you can input an operation schedule in the app in advance, such as adjusting the fan's intensity and direction in hourly increments, before going to bed.
In addition, if a user leaves the fan on while going out, IoT sensors such as an open notification detect the absence and send an app push notification to the user, allowing them to remotely control small home appliances anytime and anywhere.
In particular, we plan to develop a sleep sensor that automatically adjusts the temperature by recognizing the user's sleep state and induces sleep based on big data.
An Seong-jun, Head of the IoT Division at LG Uplus, stated, “Starting with our collaboration with Shinil Industrial, we plan to rapidly expand the integration of IoT services into small home appliances,” adding, “We will introduce services that innovate the customer experience through various devices connected to the home IoT platform.”

IoT 비데는 LG유플러스 홈IoT 플랫폼인 ‘IoT@home’ 앱에 연동해 사용할 수 있는 IoT 특화 욕실 상품으로, 사용자는 댁내 와이파이 연결을 통해 비데 노즐, 세정, 온수, 세기 등을 개인 맞춤형으로 설정할 수 있다. 앱과 실시간 연동되는 IoT 비데는 사용자가 실제로 이용하는 비데 패턴을 빅데이터로 분석해 필터 교체 시기를 직접 알려준다. 이에 따라 사용자는 의무적으로 정해진 기간에 비데 필터를 바꿀 필요가 없어졌다. 예를 들어, 필터 교체, 노즐 세척 및 클린 서비스 시기가 되면 앱에서 푸시 알림이 전송되는 방식이다. 필터 구매 및 클린 서비스 요청은 앱 화면에서 LG유플러스 온라인 직영몰 ‘IoT Shop’으로 바로 접속할 수 있다. 뿐만 아니라, IoT 비데는 용변을 마친 후에도 휴대폰 검색 등으로 비데에 장시간 앉아있는 사용자들에게 일정 시간이 지나면 앱에서 ‘일어나라’는 알림을 보낸다. LG유플러스는 이번 IoT 비데 출시로 환풍기를 포함해 콘센트, 스위치, 플러그, 열림감지센서 등 기존 36종의 IoT 기기들과 서로 연동해 진정한 스마트 홈이 구현될 수 있도록 할 계획이다. 예를 들어, 화장실 스위치를 켜면 IoT 비데의 변좌 기능이 자동으로 켜지고, 비데에 사용자가 앉으면 LG유플러스 IoT 플랫폼에 연동된 환풍기가 자동으로 작동한다. LG유플러스 안성준 IoT 부문장은 “비데, 환풍기 등 욕실 IoT 제품 뿐만 아니라 고객에게 생활 가치 및 편의를 줄 수 있는 IoT 서비스를 지속적으로 선보일 계획”이라며 “연내 50종까지 IoT 상품을 확대해 국내 홈 IoT 시장에서 일등 사업자로서의 입지를 더욱 공고히 하겠다”고 말했다.

LG유플러스, 리조트에서 홈IoT 체험룸 공개한다
LG유플러스가 오는 5월부터 곤지암 리조트 객실을 ‘IoT 체험룸’으로 고객이 실생활에서 직접 체험해볼 수 있게 한다. 일반 숙박시설을 IoT 서비스 체험용 객실로 구축한 것은 처음으로 IoT 체험 객실 이용 고객이 서비스 사용 후 가입을 원할 경우 현장에서 청약 접수가 가능하다. 곤지암리조트 내 4개 타입의 객실 중 가장 넓은 평형인 72평형(로얄룸)과 46평형(노블룸), 각 1실이 IoT 체험룸으로 운영된다. IoT체험룸에는 홈CCTV, 열림알리미, 플러그 등 6종의 LG유플러스 IoT 서비스와 IoT 가전제품 3종 공기청정기, 로봇청소기, 가습기가 설치되어 있다.

Goyang City to Launch IoT Trash Cans
LG유플러스가 경기도 고양시에 NB-IoT(협대역 사물인터넷) 기반 스마트 수거관리시스템을 6월부터 본격 구축한다. LG유플러스)는 고양시와 지난해 스마트시티 구현과 IoT 산업 생태계 조성을 위한 업무협약을 맺고 스마트 도시환경, 안심주차 등 스마트시티 시범 서비스를 시작했다. 올해에는 새로운 테마의 IoT 서비스를 추가로 구축할 예정이다. ‘스마트 쓰레기 수거관리’는 가장 먼저 선보이는 서비스로 LG유플러스의 NB-IoT 전용망을 통해 제공될 예정으로, 도시 대로변 곳곳에 설치된 쓰레기통과 주택 밀집 지역의 주민 공용 쓰레기통에 IoT 센서를 탑재해 적재량을 실시간 관리해 준다. 구체적으로 ▲적재량 감지센서 ▲태양광압축 쓰레기통 ▲쓰레기수거차량 트래커 ▲쓰레기매립장 수거 데이터 통합연동 시스템으로 구성된다.
