SK Telecom announced that it will sell the 5.5-inch large-screen smartphone 'Galaxy Wide 2' priced at 200,000 won through official authorized dealers and the online mall T World Direct.

The release price of the 'Galaxy Wide 2' is 297,000 won, which is 22,000 won cheaper than its predecessor, the Galaxy Wide (released at 319,000 won). If SK Telecom customers choose the Band Data Save (32,890 won/month), a plan priced in the 30,000 won range, they can receive a subsidy of 120,000 won, allowing them to sign up for the plan for 177,000 won.

With the launch of the 'Galaxy Wide 2', SK Telecom plans to diversify its lineup from expensive flagship smartphones such as the Galaxy S8 to budget smartphones priced in the 200,000 won range, thereby expanding the range of terminal choices available to customers.

The 'Galaxy Wide 2' is the successor to the 'Galaxy Wide', which was released exclusively by SK Telecom in July of last year and took the low- to mid-priced smartphone market by storm by ▲ranking first among SK Telecom's low- to mid-priced smartphones for 10 months ▲selling a total of 450,000 units.

The popularity of the 'Galaxy Wide' was driven by customers in their 50s and 60s, the so-called 'Silver Surfers' (elderly people who are adept at using digital devices). The 5060 generation of customers accounted for the largest share of total Galaxy Wide sales at 53%, followed by customers in their teens at 19%.

Accordingly, SK Telecom reflected the tastes of practical customers who wanted to purchase a large-screen smartphone but were burdened by the high release price by releasing the 'Galaxy Wide 2' at a lowered release price of 200,000 won while maintaining the 5.5-inch large-screen display.

In addition, it has upgraded features such as ▲large-capacity (3,300 mAh) detachable battery ▲central processing unit (AP) 1.6 Octa Core ▲13 million pixel rear camera ▲2 GB/16 GB memory ▲NFC, DMB function ▲'Soft feel' rear design. It is released in two colors, black and silver.
