ams announced at CDNLive EMEA that it is expanding its foundry ecosystem.

Based on cooperation with Fraunhofer IIS and RoodMicrotec, these three partners have opened a more reliable and comprehensive access route for ASIC solutions by providing IC development, assembly, testing, and quality inspection services to OEMs, system integrators (SIs), and innovative startups.

ASIC design is carried out through the proven design experience and technical and application expertise of Fraunhofer IIS, a long-term partner of ams. Ams provides specialized analog and sensor wafer manufacturing technologies supporting industrial, automotive, and medical applications. Test services, including assembly, test software, and hardware development, are provided by ams and LudMicroTech; additionally, LudMicroTech offers extensive product quality inspection and failure analysis services.

Dr. Norbert Weber, Head of IC and Systems at Fraunhofer IIS, said, “We will apply our long design experience to this new partnership. "Customers can utilize numerous IP blocks developed with ams technology, such as AD converters, 3D Hall sensors, and ISM band wake-up receivers," he explained.
