Held for four days at COEX starting on the 24th
The largest scale with 430 participating companies and 1,550 booths

The 'World IT Show 2017 (hereinafter referred to as the World IT Show)' event will be held for four days from Wednesday the 24th to Saturday the 27th at COEX Halls A, B, and C in Seoul, with approximately 450 domestic and international companies participating.

Hosted by the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning and sponsored by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Seoul Metropolitan Government, the World IT Show is Korea's largest ICT (Information and Communication Technology) exhibition. It aims to promote domestic ICT technologies internationally and stimulate related industry businesses. Now in its 10th year, the show will feature participation from major domestic IT companies, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), venture companies, and international companies, showcasing the latest IT technologies and products.

This year's World IT Show, with the theme of 'Transform Everything', will be divided into five categories for exhibition: ▲Mobile (smartphones, tablet PCs, VR (virtual reality) and AR (augmented reality), digital broadcasting equipment, etc.) ▲IT convergence technology such as IoT, drones, and smart cars (autonomous vehicles, shipbuilding, power, transportation, robots, medical convergence technology, etc.) ▲IT services and equipment in the cloud computing and big data fields ▲Software and digital content, 3D, and artificial intelligence (AI) technology ▲Industrial electronics.

At this year's World IT Show, leading domestic companies such as Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics, as well as SK Telecom and KT, will showcase a variety of new products and technologies. In addition, from new IoT products to SW, small and medium-sized venture companies aiming to enter overseas markets, as well as various domestic ICT-related government-run organizations and associations, will participate in the event, which will be held in 1,550 booths with approximately 430 companies participating.

This exhibition will also feature the "ITRC Forum 2017," a showcase of research findings and technologies from University ICT Research Centers. Exhibition booths will be divided into six areas: Future Society Safety and Security, Future Society Content and Media, Industrial ICT Convergence, Intelligent ICT Convergence, Smart Life, and Smart Infrastructure. Thirty-eight research centers from 29 universities will participate.

On Wednesday the 24th, along with the World IT Show opening ceremony, various side events will be held, including the 'Safety and Security Industry Fair (SAFER KOREA),' an industry fair related to safety and advanced security technology, and the '2017 ICT Technology Commercialization Festival,' where you can see the achievements of ICT R&D.

On the 25th (Thursday), the 'Global ICT Outlook Conference' will be held to introduce trends and forecast ICT technology for 2017 for approximately 500 domestic and international ICT industry experts. It is expected to be a venue for sharing the latest information, with lectures and panel discussions on various topics related to AI, smart cars, VR/AR, IoT, fintech, mobile, communications, and security, which are issues related to the 4th Industrial Revolution.

At this year's World IT Show, various programs will be newly established and expanded to help domestic small and medium-sized enterprises and venture companies expand overseas and boost exports.

To this end, new business consultation sessions and seminars, such as the "ICT Small and Medium Venture Investment Attraction Briefing Session," will be held, and the "Global ICT Partnership Program" and the "Global ICT Big Buyer Invitation 1:1 Export Consultation Session" will be expanded, leading to more active transaction contracts for concrete business outcomes, such as entry into overseas markets.
