Wolfson Launches PMIC Optimized for Freescale's Latest Tablet PC Processors
December 15, 2011 - Wolfson Microelectronics Korea (CEO Kim Ki-tae, www.wolfsonmicro.com ) announced today the release of the 'WM8325-00C', a power management integrated circuit (PMIC) semiconductor that supports Freescale Semiconductor's i.MX53 application processor family for tablet PCs.

The Freescale i.MX535 processor, supported by Wolfson’s power management chip, the WM8325-00C, features a 1GHz ARM Cortex™ A8 core, 1080p HD video decoding and 720p video encoding, two dedicated graphics cores, and support for multiple displays and connectivity options. Optimized for battery-saving applications such as tablet PCs, Wolfson’s WM8325-00C offers high performance and low power consumption.
The WM8325-00C Power Management Subsystem is a PMIC system supporting ARM-based processors and is one of the key mobile processors that provides excellent performance for various types of multimedia applications. In particular, the WM8325-00C is a flexible single-chip solution that reduces time-to-market because it allows changes in application requirements to be conveniently stored in One-Time Programmable (OTP) memory. This advantageous OTP is optimized for the power management requirements of Freescale's i.MX535 processor.
