IDC Selects Lotte Department Store, Yuhan Kimberly, POSCO, Government Integrated Data Center, and Others
Winning companies registered as finalists for the Asia Pacific DX Awards

IDC (www.idc.com) announced that it has launched the 'IDC DX Award' to select outstanding digital transformation companies in the Asia-Pacific region that have achieved exceptional excellence in the digital transformation (DX) process or led the transformation of the market and industry landscape, and selected four Korean companies and organizations, including Lotte Department Store, Yuhan Kimberly, POSCO, and the Government Data Center.

IDC Korea hosted the 'IDC CIO Summit 2017 Conference' on Tuesday, the 23rd, at the Grand Intercontinental Hotel in Samseong-dong, inviting over 150 CIOs and IT executives, and held the DX Awards ceremony as a side event. The four companies and organizations that won awards this time have also been registered as finalists for the Asia Pacific DX Awards (IDC DX Award 2017) to be held in Singapore this coming November.

IDC Korea explained that to select the top DX companies, it conducted nominations over the course of March and April, and formed a judging panel consisting of IDC Asia-Pacific expert researchers and external panels to ensure transparency and fairness in the DX Award evaluation process.

Jang Soon-yeol, Managing Director overseeing the research group at IDC Korea, stated, “Digital transformation is becoming a core strategy and management style for industry leaders, and companies will utilize various technologies to operate in a more agile and flexible ‘digital native’ manner.” He added that digital transformation is expected to lead to significant economic ripple effects on a massive scale over the next few years.

"As such rapid business changes unfold, it is very important to seek digital transformation initiatives and examine best practices," said Managing Director Jang. "The companies that won this DX Award provided exemplary cases of leading and actively utilizing DX to lead business and secure competitiveness, in addition to change and innovation."
