The exhibition hall is organized around real-life backgrounds to aid visitor understanding.

SK Telecom is introducing the upcoming world of the Fourth Industrial Revolution one step ahead at the 'World IT Show 2017' (hereinafter WIS 2017) held at COEX, under the theme 'Gateway to Korea 4.0'.

SK Telecom is showcasing 25 items across five major areas at a large exhibition hall located in Hall C on the 3rd floor, including autonomous vehicle base technologies connected via 5G networks, 17 lifestyle-oriented AI services, the IoT smart factory 'Do IoT Yourself', immersive media, and an underwater observation and control network.

SK Telecom designed the exhibition hall with real-life settings such as roads, houses, factories, and stadiums to help visitors understand the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

SK Telecom will demonstrate its V2X (Vehicle to Everything) technology, 'T Remote Eye V2X,' by creating a real road environment inside the exhibition hall. 'T Remote Eye V2X' is a connected car platform linked with 'T Map,' Korea's No. 1 mobile navigation service. The company plans to demonstrate features such as sounding a warning alarm when a vehicle ahead using 'T Map' gets into an accident or brakes suddenly while the vehicles equipped with the technology are driving on the road, closing open gas valves, and displaying the remaining time for a traffic light stop signal. 'T Remote Eye V2X' is scheduled for commercialization as early as the second half of this year.

SK Telecom has prepared a 'VR Connected Car' that visitors can operate directly through virtual reality, allowing them to realistically experience the integrated autonomous vehicle technology. In the world's first 5G connected car, 'T5', visitors can see various driving technologies utilizing ultra-high-speed and ultra-low-latency communication functions.

In addition, SK Telecom has prepared a space identical to a home environment where visitors can control home devices and check their status through the AI device 'Nugu,' as well as experience 17 lifestyle-oriented AI services such as listening to music and purchasing products.

SK Telecom is also showcasing various IoT devices built using the dedicated IoT network 'LoRa'. In particular, this exhibition features a smart factory space called 'Do IoT Yourself' where visitors can assemble IoT modules themselves to complete a single device, allowing them to experience the benefits of IoT firsthand.

At this exhibition, underwater observation and control network technology that enables seamless communication even underwater is being unveiled for the first time. It was explained that once the underwater observation and control network is established, it will be utilized in a wide range of fields, including supporting rapid response during disasters such as tsunamis, protecting the environment through marine ecosystem monitoring, and constructing underwater military defense systems.
