Western Digital Launches Embedded Storage Solution Targeting Automotive Market

Western Digital has launched a new automotive embedded flash drive (EFD) 'iNAND 7250A'.
The iNAND 7250A is an automotive-grade storage solution that has passed all tests required by the automotive market, including stability, extreme temperature, and physical shock. It is designed to smoothly process the vast amount of data generated within the vehicle, such as the latest ADAS (Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems), infotainment, driving safety systems, and other connected technologies.
The iNAND 7250A is applicable to various types of automotive systems within a vehicle that generate, receive, and process various data. In addition to increasingly complex infotainment and navigation systems and diagnostic systems that analyze vehicle status, this includes vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) and vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) communication systems that require continuous data streaming.
Christopher Bergey, Vice President of Embedded and Integrated Solutions at Western Digital, stated, "The transition from simple applications such as infotainment to ADAS and autonomous driving systems has led to a rapid increase in vehicle data, demanding more resilient and intelligent storage solutions." He added, "Based on enhanced enterprise-grade storage and controller technology, the iNAND 7250A is the optimal storage solution for automotive systems across all fields, featuring outstanding reliability, consistent performance and quality even at extreme temperatures, and various smart functions."

Western Digital Launches SAS SSDs with Superior Endurance
Western Digital has launched the HGST brand's highest performance SAS SSD, 'Ultrastar SS300'. The Ultrastar SS300 is an enterprise SSD based on a 12Gb/s (12 gigabits per second throughput) SAS interface and was jointly developed with Intel. It delivers high random performance with maximum random read/write speeds of 400,000 and 200,000 IOPS (input/output operations per second), respectively. The Ultrastar SS300 is optimized for data-intensive environments such as virtualized storage systems, databases, private and hybrid clouds. With a maximum capacity of 7.68TB, it facilitates reducing the number of drives during data center construction and consolidating servers to secure additional rack space.
