VMware announced that its Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) solution, AirWatch, was named a leader in the EMM category for the seventh consecutive year in the '2017 Gartner Magic Quadrant' released by IT research firm Gartner.

The Gartner Magic Quadrant is a global IT evaluation metric that assesses industry competitiveness based on two evaluation criteria: 'completeness of vision' and 'ability to execute.' VMware AirWatch received the highest score in the ability to execute category for five consecutive years starting in 2013, and by recording the highest score in the completeness of vision category following last year, it achieved simultaneous first place in the EMM sector for two consecutive years.

According to Gartner, VMware AirWatch possesses strengths such as supporting stable large-scale deployments, security features to counter zero-day attacks that occur during the launch of new operating systems, and control capabilities for mobile devices not authorized by the enterprise. VMware recently expanded AirWatch into Unified Endpoint Management (UEM), providing a user-centric approach that enables integrated management of all endpoints, including mobile, desktop, and IoT. In addition, integration with the enterprise platform Workspace ONE helps customers build a more secure digital workspace.
