The Charge 2 utilizes PurePulse technology that measures real-time cumulative heart rate to calculate an 'Aerobic Fitness Level' score indicating cardiovascular fitness, and supports a 'Guided Breathing Session' feature for effective stress management. It also features a display four times larger than the previous Charge HR model.
The Blaze is a smart fitness watch designed to maximize users' exercise performance, providing PurePulse technology for real-time heart rate measurement, GPS synchronized with smartphones, and FitStar exercise coaching, a personal fitness training program. The design features a modular form with interchangeable bands ranging from leather to stainless steel.

Fitbit can distinguish sleep stages with a band-style tracker
Fitbit announced that it has been clinically proven that band-type activity trackers equipped with motion and heart rate measurement capabilities, such as Fitbit Alta HR, Blaze, and Charge 2, enable accurate differentiation between light sleep, deep sleep, and REM sleep stages. Sleep medicine specialists reviewed over 4 billion data points collected through Fitbit. As a result, they found that band-type activity trackers measure sleep stages in adults with considerable accuracy, allowing users to save additional costs, such as those incurred from future visits to sleep laboratories for treatment purposes. Dr. Henegan, who participated in the research, stated, "Sleep stage measurement, which was previously only possible in sleep laboratories, is now achievable through wrist band-type trackers thanks to Fitbit's technology, fundamentally changing how we access information about sleep habits. If we can measure sleep quality so conveniently, individuals will be able to understand their own sleep more accurately, society can raise awareness of public health, and we can gain new insights into previously unknown information about sleep and various health conditions."
