Release of Ultra-High Speed 4A and 5A 2-Output MOSFET Drivers for Communications and Server Power Supplies
Achieve high efficiency and reliability with high-performance MOSFET drivers.
Power system protection against surges up to 100V

TI Korea ( www.ti.com/ww/kr ) January 9, 2012 – TI has expanded its MOSFET driver portfolio by launching three next-generation 2-output gate drivers that improve efficiency and reliability in high-density isolated power supplies.
First 120V Boot High-Side/Low-Side MOSFET Driver
The UCC27210 and UCC27211 are the industry's first 120V boot high-side and low-side 2-output MOSFET drivers capable of supplying output currents up to 4A and accepting -10VDC at the driver input terminals. These drivers support multiple high-frequency half-bridge and full-bridge power topologies and feature a very fast 18ns propagation delay. Therefore, they can improve efficiency and reliability when used in telecommunications, server, and industrial power supply designs that must withstand 100V surges. (For more information on samples, PSpice transient current models, and evaluation modules, please refer to www.ti.com/ucc27210-pr )
Key features of UCC27210/1:
• Industry's first 120V rated 4A high-side/low-side driver (TTL and pseudo-CMOS compatible input versions) capable of driving both N-channel high-side and low-side FETs
• Minimizes switching losses when the MOSFET passes through the Miller Plateau region with 0.9Ω pull-up and pull-down resistance characteristics
• Improved system reliability: Since the input supports -10VDC, it can be directly interfaced with a gate-driver transformer without a rectifier diode.
Drive high current faster
TI has also released the industry's fastest 5A dual-channel low-side driver for use with secondary-side synchronous rectifier MOSFETs and IGBT power switches. The UCC27524 driver features a fast propagation delay of 12ns, a rising time of 6ns, and output delay matching of 1ns, providing low pulse distortion and high efficiency. This driver supports operating voltages from 4.5V to 18V and can drive 10A applications, such as motor drive systems, by combining its two outputs. (For more information on samples, PSpice transient current models, and evaluation modules, please refer to www.ti.com/ucc27524-pr )
Key features of UCC27524:
• High Current and High Performance: Provides high efficiency with a peak source and sink drive current of 5A, supports an input range of 4.5V to 18V, and enables higher current driving by combining outputs in parallel.
• Very High Speed: 12ns rated propagation delay, 6ns rated rise time, rated output delay matching performance of just 1ns between 2 channels
• Small size: Industry-standard 8-pin SOIC and PDIP packages
Price and Supply Time
The UCC27210 and UCC27211 are available in 8-pin or 10-pin, 4mm x 4mm 8-pin SON and 8-pin SOIC packages. The UCC27524 is available in industry-standard 8-pin WSON and PDIP packages. The 3mm x 3mm 8-pin WSON will be available after the first quarter. Pricing is $1.50 for the UCC27210/1 and $0.70 for the UCC27524 in 1,000-unit quantities.
