MathWorks Korea Signs Campus License Agreement with Yonsei University
Published2017.06.30 10:30The campus license allows unlimited use of MATLAB for teaching and research purposes in all departments and anywhere on campus that require complex mathematical calculations, and is utilized by many universities overseas, including in the United States, Europe, and Australia. The Total Academic Headcount Full Suite (TAH Full Suite) adopted by Yonsei University is a package that includes all of MathWorks' products, enabling all members of the university to use MATLAB as a common platform for teaching, research, and student projects.
MathWorks products under licensing agreements provide solutions essential for research and development in various industries, including automotive, aerospace and defense, marine, high-speed rail, industrial automation and machinery, healthcare, financial services, telecommunications, electronics, and semiconductors, such as algorithm design and simulation, data analysis, signal processing, mathematical modeling, and parallel computing.
The MATLAB platform is optimized for solving engineering and scientific problems and provides features that enable efficient resolution of computationally and data-intensive problems.
With the introduction of this campus license, Yonsei University establishes a system for fostering global leaders through education and research.
Lee Jung-woo, Director of the Academic Information Center at Yonsei University, stated, "Yonsei University is striving to foster creative education and support interdisciplinary convergence and startups to solve social and industrial problems in order to revitalize ideas." He added that with the signing of this licensing agreement, "we will be able to collaborate with experts in other fields and gain significant assistance in efficiently solving scientific and engineering problems."

Data from approximately 50 million people accumulated over a day is obtained through Simulink simulation, accounting for different habits, age, and various environments unique to each patient.

Xilinx Introduces Embedded Systems for Security and Autonomous Driving
자일링스의 DSP Specialist 정웅 부장이 매스웍스 엑스포2017에서 보안과 자율주행 시스템에 도입될 수 있는 reVISION을 소개했다. 정웅 부장은 "자일링스 SD SOC는 프로세서와 FPGA를 동시에 탑재해 오픈 프레임워크로 C와 C++로 디자인하면 자동으로 HDL코드로 변환해준다."고 했다. 데모에서는 실시간 이미지를 움직임이 많은 곳은 밝고, 적은 곳은 어둡게 보여주는 이미지 프로세싱을 선보였다. 이를 도로에 가져오면 사람과 물체를 구분하는 자율주행과 보안 분야에 이용될 수 있다.

MathWorks Successfully Concludes Technology Seminar for Defense and Aerospace Industries
MathWorks' "MATLAB and Simulink Technology Seminar for Defense and Aerospace Industries" successfully concluded on the 25th with attendance of approximately 100 industry researchers, engineers, and developers. The seminar, which began at 1 p.m., was conducted across two tracks. Kim Young-woo, Executive Vice President of MathWorks Korea, presented in the common session on "Trends and Implementation Status of Technologies Leading Change in Defense and Aerospace Industries," introducing application cases of MATLAB and Simulink while explaining how global defense contractors are successfully implementing and utilizing model-based design and technical computing.

Databricks Unveils Open AI Security Monitoring 'Lakewatch'
Databricks entered the security market on March 24 by unveiling LakeWatch, an open-source agentic SIEM. The core functionality of this product is to integrate and analyze security, IT, and business data in a single environment to support AI-based threat detection and investigation. The company explained that it reduces the limitations of existing security operations centers, which have had to forgo some data due to high cost structures, and enables large-scale data analysis and automation based on open formats and ecosystems. LakeWatch is currently offered as a private preview, with Adobe and Dropbox mentioned as early customers. Databricks also announced an expanded partnership with Anthropic as well as the acquisition of Antimatter and SiftD.ai.
