Proactive Management of Energy Costs Possible

KT announced on the 6th that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Korea Housing Management Association at KT headquarters in Gwanghwamun, Seoul, for cooperation in energy consumption reduction projects targeting domestic multi-family residential buildings.

Through this business agreement, KT will expand 'KT Giga Energy Manager' (formerly EnergyEyes), an energy reduction service for multi-family residences. Additionally, through joint cooperation between the two organizations, it is anticipated that contributions will be made to reducing CO2 emissions and greenhouse gas reductions in multi-family residential buildings, which are difficult for the government and enterprises to address on their own.

Since October 2016, KT has been providing the 'KT Giga Energy Manager Free (FREE)' service at no cost, which enables efficient energy management for buildings and factories. The 'Giga Energy Manager' allows proactive management of energy costs according to seasons and time periods through big data analysis of energy consumption. The 'Giga Energy Manager Lite/Premium' service, which enables real-time monitoring-based power management and remote control, is scheduled to launch in the third quarter.

Kim Young-myung, Head of KT's Smart Energy Business Division, stated, "Through KT's ICT capabilities and the active cooperation of the Korea Housing Management Association, we will be able to innovatively transform energy consumption in multi-family residences that were previously difficult to manage, and ensure high satisfaction for both managers and users."

Choi Chang-sik, Chairman of the Korea Housing Management Association, expressed his commitment, "Since our founding in 1991, we have made numerous efforts for advanced management of multi-family residences. We anticipate that cooperation with KT will provide significant momentum to these efforts, and we will continue to work harder to create a comfortable living environment in multi-family residential buildings."
