After Dell-EMC Merger? "Sufficient Synergy Effects"

Dell EMC held a forum on Thursday the 6th at COEX with the theme "Realize your digital future."
David Webster, General Manager for Asia-Pacific, responded to a journalist's comment that "it appears there have been no special product launches other than the VxRail launch following the Dell and EMC merger" by saying "we are generating sufficient synergy effects after the merger."
He stated that "for executives contemplating how to implement digital transformation and methods to simplify IT, Dell EMC creates synergy effects simply by providing integrated solutions encompassing storage (EMC), servers (Dell), and security (VMware)." He also announced plans to strengthen cooperation with domestic companies such as Samsung and Naver.

The forum, divided into five tracks: <Digital Transformation>, <Modern Infrastructure>, <Hyper-Converged Systems>, <Cloud>, and <Workforce Transformation>, proceeded with 25 topics.
Dell displayed related products at the exhibition booth including an 8K UHD 32-inch monitor and gaming monitors. In addition, domestic and international companies participated including VMware, a subsidiary of Dell Technologies, as well as Naver, Cisco, Samsung Electronics, and Red Hat.
President Kim Kyung-jin stated, "In the changing data storage market, Dell EMC will play a partner role for service providers," and added "while we cannot mention specific details, we are planning large-scale cloud services in the domestic market starting in the second half."

Databricks Unveils Open AI Security Monitoring 'Lakewatch'
Databricks entered the security market on March 24 by unveiling LakeWatch, an open-source agentic SIEM. The core functionality of this product is to integrate and analyze security, IT, and business data in a single environment to support AI-based threat detection and investigation. The company explained that it reduces the limitations of existing security operations centers, which have had to forgo some data due to high cost structures, and enables large-scale data analysis and automation based on open formats and ecosystems. LakeWatch is currently offered as a private preview, with Adobe and Dropbox mentioned as early customers. Databricks also announced an expanded partnership with Anthropic as well as the acquisition of Antimatter and SiftD.ai.
