Launch of Zigbee® RF4CE Remote Control Solution to Enhance Interaction with Consumer Electronics Devices such as TVs, Set-top Boxes, and Game Consoles
With the new solution, home appliance manufacturers can rapidly implement remote-controlled devices with the latest features, and this product is hardware compatible with TI's Bluetooth® Low Energy system-on-chip.
TI Korea ( www.ti.com/ww/kr ) January 12, 2012 – TI, a provider of highly integrated wireless connectivity solutions, has launched the latest Zigbee® RF4CE remote control solution supporting the upcoming Zigbee Input Device (ZID) profile. This solution enables mouse-like pointing capabilities, keyboard, gesture, and touch-based input console functions for consumer electronics devices such as TVs, set-top boxes, and game consoles. TI’s Zigbee RF4CE solution includes a royalty-free RemoTI™ 1.3 protocol stack with sample application software, an ETSI-compliant and FCC-certified nano USB module, and an associated Advanced Remote Control (IR) development kit. This remote control solution from TI will be demonstrated at the TI booth (N116, North Hall) and the Zigbee Pavilion (21318E, South 1) at the 2012 Consumer Electronics Show (CES). With this new Zigbee RF4CE solution, combined with TI's proven CC253x 802.15.4 RF-IC wireless solution, manufacturers can rapidly implement the latest remote control devices. CC253x is pin-to-pin compatible with TI’s Bluetooth® Low Energy CC254x system-on-chip (SoC), allowing for the convenient implementation of both standards in a design that can respond agilely to future changes.
