Accordo 5 with outstanding processing and memory streaming performance

STMicroelectronics demonstrated the Accordo5 STA1295, which provides high-end graphics, audio, and video to small and mid-sized vehicles, at Automotive Innovation Day 2017.

The Accordo 5 family delivers high-definition displays and security performance on a compact, low-power platform. The main CPU is an ARM Cortex-A7 processor, delivering space-efficient performance and superior processing and memory streaming performance.

When users connect their smartphones to music and navigation, the vehicle's own interface can display complex information, including mirroring. Furthermore, it supports resolutions up to 1080p, based on a 500MHz 3D graphics processor core. The display controller is a TFT-LCD touch panel with Full HD resolution.

The audio features DSP, six stereo analog channels, and an industry-standard audio interface, while the video supports flexible blending effects in multiple modes and four layers.

To enhance the security of connected cars, boot-code authentication and secure interconnect between the head unit and the main network, as well as high-performance data encryption functions, have been built in.
