Quantum Korea joins hands with Innodep to strengthen integrated video control market
Published2017.07.20 10:02Quantum Korea (CEO Kang-wook Lee) announced that it will strengthen its strategy to conquer the domestic and international integrated video control market by cooperating with Innodep (CEO Seong-jin Lee), a domestic video control VMS (Video Management Solution) solution company.
Innodep is a 'strategic alliance partner' that provides Quantum's products as customized solutions according to various customer situations. Accordingly, the two companies announced that they will cooperate to supply an 'integrated video surveillance data management system' that can manage video surveillance data at once by combining Innodep's VMS (video management solution) and Quantum's layered storage product for video data management.
The 'Integrated Video Surveillance Data Management System' is integrated and linked with Quantum's high-performance workflow shared storage management solution 'Xcellis', which has already proven its performance and functionality through numerous references at home and abroad, high-performance large-capacity disk storage 'QXS Series', and high-capacity media storage 'Scalar Tape Library', as well as Innodep's video surveillance system 'Viewix VMS'.
Through this partnership, all data stored in storage can be checked and managed from a single user management screen, and we plan to actively respond to domestic and international video surveillance system construction projects that require integrated management of data generated from video surveillance cameras of all sizes, from small to medium to large.
In addition, Innodep plans to accelerate its global market conquest by establishing overseas branches and discovering new customer demands through joint marketing and business cooperation in Southeast Asia and the Middle East, where it already has a large customer base.

ETRI to Develop Technology to Track Criminals Using CCTV AI
ETRI (Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute) announced on the 1st that it will undertake development of a cloud-based intelligent video security incubation platform. This technology, by learning and providing intelligent public safety models optimized for diverse security environments based on a cloud platform, is expected to significantly contribute to strengthening market competitiveness through securing intelligent core technology for small and medium-sized video-related companies, as well as constructing next-generation advanced public safety platforms. Existing CCTV systems installed are widely utilized in crime resolution by providing decisive evidence; however, there are many situations where accurate identification by the naked eye is difficult. As a single operator monitors dozens of CCTV channel feeds over extended periods, there are cases where dangerous situations go undetected even when they occur. ETRI will develop next-generation advanced public safety technology by integrating artificial intelligence technology into security CCTV systems to automatically detect dangerous situations such as traffic accidents and crimes in real-time, alert police, and automatically identify and track suspects and vehicles related to incidents.

Quantum Announces Virtualized Data Backup Support Solution with Veeam Software
Quantum announced that it will launch the 'Scalar® tape storage platform', a tape storage solution that supports enhanced security virtualized data backup in collaboration with Veeam Software, a specialized provider of virtualization-based data backup and recovery, and the 'DXi® deduplication appliance', a disk-based data backup and deduplication appliance. The integrated solution from both companies enables immediate data recovery and backup creation in virtualized environments and controls network access to tape storage, thereby supporting data protection against data corruption, disasters, and ransomware.

Databricks Unveils Open AI Security Monitoring 'Lakewatch'
Databricks entered the security market on March 24 by unveiling LakeWatch, an open-source agentic SIEM. The core functionality of this product is to integrate and analyze security, IT, and business data in a single environment to support AI-based threat detection and investigation. The company explained that it reduces the limitations of existing security operations centers, which have had to forgo some data due to high cost structures, and enables large-scale data analysis and automation based on open formats and ecosystems. LakeWatch is currently offered as a private preview, with Adobe and Dropbox mentioned as early customers.
